View all work →

Te Rito Hou is a culturally grounded financial wellbeing programme developed through a collaboration between Te Ara Ahunga Ora Retirement Commission, Tāwhia, and the New Zealand Banking Association (NZBA). The programme supports whānau Māori to build financial understanding, confidence, capability, and long-term financial wellbeing through a kaupapa Māori approach.

Tāwhia

The Opportunity

Te Rito Hou aims to raise the financial understanding, knowledge and confidence of whānau Māori, supporting whānau Māori to work towards greater financial independence. Alongside this, there is a challenge to lift trust between Māori and the banking sector to enable equitable access to products and services.

Our Response

We are currently seeking proposal for potential facilitators to support the refresh, delivery and the long-term sustainability of the programme.

The purpose of the RFP is to identify and appoint a lead facilitator or delivery organisation that can:

• Refine and strengthen the existing Te Rito Hou programme.
• Deliver Te Rito Hou using a kaupapa Māori approach.
• Build trusted relationships with whānau, communities, Māori bankers and partner
organisations.
• Support evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the long-term sustainability and growth of Te Rito Hou.

The Outcome

This project is still in progress.
