Supporting Organisational Transition Readiness
Haemata developed fit-for-purpose job documentation to support Whakatōhea Māori Trust Board’s PSGE transition and readiness for transfer to Te Tawharau o te Whakatōhea.

The Opportunity
Following the signing of its Deed of Settlement with the Crown, Whakatōhea Māori Trust Board (WMTB) was establishing a new organisational structure to support its transition toward Te Tawharau o te Whakatōhea (PSGE). This required updated role clarity and fit-for-purpose job documentation to support the transfer of assets, liabilities, and staff. The work needed to be delivered efficiently while remaining aligned to kaupapa, organisational priorities, and the needs of the Whakatōhea people.
Our Response
Haemata worked closely with senior leadership to develop key job documentation supporting the new organisational structure. This included updating and drafting job descriptions for roles that were:
- Integrated into revised positions
- Disestablished where no longer required
- Newly created to meet future needs
All documentation was completed within agreed timeframes to strengthen organisational readiness for the PSGE transition.
The Outcome
By providing updated job documentation aligned to the new organisational structure and clarity of roles, Whakatōhea Māori Trust Board was positioned for a smooth and effective transition to Te Tawharau o te Whakatōhea.
The Conclusion
Haemata supported Whakatōhea Māori Trust Board through a significant period of organisational change by delivering fit-for-purpose job documentation aligned to the new structure. This strengthened transition readiness and positioned the organisation to move forward with clarity and confidence.
